Alumacraft used-boat buyer's guide

What Alumacraft is on the used market

Alumacraft (since 2018 a BRP brand) is a heartland aluminum fishing name with 14,000+ hulls in our sample, positioned between Tracker's volume pricing and Lund's premium. The all-welded 2XB hull construction on modern boats is the brand's calling card, and used supply is deepest in 14–18 ft utility and walleye layouts.

Known issues to inspect

Welded hulls trade the rivet-leak risk for weld-crack inspection: check the transom corners and keel welds, especially on boats that ran big water or were chronically over-trailered. Older riveted Alumacrafts follow the standard rivet checklist.

BRP-era boats were frequently packaged with Evinrude E-TEC outboards until Evinrude's 2020 shutdown — E-TECs are solid engines but the dealer network is thinning; price a small parts-availability discount and verify a local mechanic will service one before buying. Mercury and Yamaha repowers carry no such caveat.

Resale and value character

Alumacraft holds value in line with its positioning — above Tracker, below Lund — and welded-hull models age gracefully, supporting the long flat tail of aluminum depreciation. The E-TEC question is the one brand-specific drag on late-2010s packages; otherwise this is a stable, efficient used market.
